DAY 4 | Dominican Republic

DAY 4 | Dominican Republic 2012

Our team of 22 students, 3 teachers, and 13 parents are spending their Thanksgiving break ministering to those in the Dominican Republic. Working alongside the Manny Mota Foundation they have been delivering uniforms and toys to children in the area and will even prepare a traditional, American Thanksgiving dinner to hundreds of people. We will be following them closely and updating our blog with the latest pictures and video of their adventures. Please check back often!

Feliz dia de Accion Gracias everybody! Today was a great day for the team and I. We got to sleep in late today.  First, we went down to the field at the foundation and played all sorts of different games such as, Topow (Tag), kickball, baseball, soccer, and piggy back rides. While we were playing all of these games, the others painted faces.  After, we started serving the people at the foundation their Thanksgiving dinner, we fed them the Turkeys we took with us on the plane and served a couple hundred children. Finally we sang songs and attempted to preform our puppet show, I say attempted because the kids trampled us and were more interested in touching the puppets than actually listening. They loved our songs, especially the superhero song. Today had a huge impact on my trip because, I saw truly what I am blessed with in my life that I take for granted such as fresh water, good food, loving family, and a great school. This trip has been a wonderful experience for me and has changed my life for good!
