Backpack Drive

Backpack Drive
Foothill Church is hosting a back-to-school backpack drive! Please bring a new backpack filled with supplies from the following list to the Saturday night service or Sunday morning services between July 28th – August 12th, 2012.

Saturday Service: 5pm
Sunday Services: 9am & 10:45am

Our Goal
To supply Stanton Elementary School with100+ backpacks filled with needed supplies.
This is a great way for Foothill Church to become involved in our community by supporting our local
Glendora School district, Stanton Elementary, and their students.

Why Stanton Elementary School?
– Budget cuts have had a negative affect on the Glendora School District.
– The district has had to cut $10 million out of their budget over the last several years leading to the reduction of supplies provided for students each year as well as essential classroom supplies for teachers. This has put an added financial burden upon families and teachers.
– Stanton has lost some amazing teachers due to lay-offs, which has increased each class size.
– Over 60% of the students at Stanton receive free/reduced lunch, which is the highest percentage among the Glendora Elementary Schools.

Online giving day is TODAY! We need 100% participation from FCS families to reach our goal. Your student is coming home with a red bracelet on his/her wrist to remind you to go online and give today! Link in profile. 18,000 hearts were glued together in the last 36 hours for one of our exhibit installations! Hats off to our 50+ volunteers who made it happen. This installation captures the beauty of community, a compilation of unique individuals (i.e. hearts) coming together as a whole. We are all made by God, in His image, therefore each and every person is valuable. Imagine if we treated everyone with that in mind! Visit the exhibit next Thursday and Friday to see more. @oneschoolsresponse We’re a little over a week away for Foothill’s largest event of the year! Please plan on visiting the @oneschoolsresponse art exhibit on Thurs, Oct 26 or Fri, Oct 27 anytime from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Mark your calendar October 26 or 27 to visit the @oneschoolsresponse art exhibit on bias, bigotry, bullying. Free and open to the public!
